Many of you line up for archery and all let their arrows fly. The targets are 100 paces away. Some of you don't do as well as you hoped. After everyone has fired 3 arrows each, officials go to examine the results. They take your best shot:
Leif: inner ring Dilvish: no hits Baltar: inner ring Fleetwood: bullseye Prudence: bullseye Morpheus: middle ring Naomi: outer ring Lackard: inner ring Damian: bullseye Blackthorn: bullseye Myra: bullseye September: middle ring Veronica: middle ring
The five who got bullseyes face off, each taking a turn at the same target. The target is moved to 200 paces away.
Fleetwood steps up, raises the bow, aiming somewhere above the target, and lets the arrow fly. The arrow lands within the bullseye, a little to the right. The crowd cheers.
Prudence steps up, and quickly fires an arrow. The arrow gets near the bullseye, in the inner ring.
Damian fires his arrow. He only gets to the outer ring.
Myra, the most dexterous of the bunch, fires an arrow but misses completely.
Blackthorn walks up very confident, almost laughing at the others. He arrogantly pulls back the bow and fires with his eyes closed. It almost hits one of the spectators at the other end of the field.
Fleetwood wins the prize. Guards bring out a steel long bow, encrusted with sapphires at both ends. Fleetwood graciously accepts the prize and holds it above his head as the crowd cheers.
You move on to the free-for-all wrestling competition. Who signed up for this one?
